Angel Luong

Solicitor - Dispute Resolution and Commercial Litigation

Angel is a Solicitor in the Dispute Resolution and Commercial Litigation Team at Access Law Group.

Angel first joined Access Law Group in November 2017 through the legal internship program offered by the University of Wollongong. After completing her internship, she continued to work as a law clerk at Access Law Group, where she had exposure to many different areas of law such as Commercial and Corporate Litigation, Insolvency Disputes, Debt Recovery and Employment Law.

Qualifications

Angel completed her Bachelor of Laws through the University of Wollongong in 2018, and her Diploma in Legal Practice through the College of Law.

Admission to Practice

Angel was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in May 2019.

Experience

Since her admission, Angel has predominantly been practising in Debt Recovery and Commercial Litigation Law, which involves dealing with the following legal circumstances:

Debt Recovery

  • Issuing letters of demand
  • Negotiating payment arrangements and settlements with debtors
  • Commencing proceedings for the recovery of debt in the Local Court of New South Wales
  • Undertaking action to enforce judgments, including issuing Bankruptcy Notices or Statutory Demands, and commencing Bankruptcy proceedings or Winding Up proceedings

Commercial and Corporate Litigation

  • Prosecuting or Defending court proceedings
  • Breach of Contract / Settlement Deed disputes
  • Shareholder and Director disputes, including breaches of director duties
  • Defences to claims for a voidable preference transaction under the Corporations Act
  • Responses to a Statutory Demand, Bankruptcy Notice, or Creditor’s Petition
