Solicitor - Business & Commercial Team

Clarissa is a solicitor in the Business & Commercial Team of Access Law Group, based in both our Wollongong and Camden offices.

Clarissa is passionate about providing quality legal advice and assistance. As someone who was born and raised in South-West Sydney, Clarissa is always looking to grow her network of clients, referrers and connections within the region and ensure that they have the opportunity to meet with someone who looks at and understands their needs.

She is particularly interested in the areas of employment, business and commercial law, contracts, developing commercial relationships, and assisting in the resolution of commercial disputes.

 

Community Involvement  

Clarissa is always ready to get involved to help people and is developing her advocacy on issues around Mental Health and Suicide Awareness.

Further, following a legal engagement placement to Cambodia, Clarissa supports humanitarian organisations who support Cambodians. In particular, Clarissa has taken part in Human & Hope’s Walk to Cambodia in 2019 and 2020.

In 2020, Clarissa joined the Board of Junior Chambers International’s Illawarra Chapter as an executive officer. She also organised our 2020 Out of the Shadows Walk to support LifeLine, and gave her time to volunteer with LifeLine Macarthur in December 2020.

In 2021, Clarissa will join the Board of Junior Chambers International Australia.

Admission to Practice

Clarissa was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW on 16 August 2019.

Experience

Clarissa commenced working with Access Law Group in March 2016 as a personal assistant in our Dispute Resolution and Debt Recovery teams, while studying. In late 2018, Clarissa moved to our Business & Commercial Team to work as a full-time law clerk.

Since her admission, Clarissa has worked in our Business & Commercial team directly supervised by our managing Director Tom Ellicott.

Clarissa’s main areas of practice are:

  • Commercial transactions and agreements
  • Sale and purchase of businesses
  • Advising directors and shareholders in relation to their rights and responsibilities
  • Preparation of shareholder agreements
  • Advising in relation to the dissolution of businesses
  • Self-Managed Superannuation Funds, establishment of funds, compliance and amendments
  • Self-Managed Superannuation Funds Property/Asset Transactions and associated document preparation
  • Licence agreements for the use of intellectual property
  • Employment law, including preparation of employment contracts and Enterprise Agreements
  • Advising on employer or employee rights and responsibilities
  • Advising and assisting with employment related disputes, including applications for, and responses to, Unfair Dismissal or General Protections (Fair Work) actions and disputes.
  • General contract advice
  • Advice in relation to workplace health and safety
